A4 B7 front suspension
front suspension on 2007 A4
Hi, I just got a 2007 A4 quattro. I noticed that whenever I go over bigger potholes or speed-bumps, even at 5 mph, there are clicking and clunking noises coming from the front suspension, wheels or brakes. I am just wondering if anyone has experienced this before and if it is normal for a new car. I'll ask the dealer to take a look at it when I go for my first 5k service. Thanks for all your replies.

i wouldnt wait that long i would go now, sounds like your suspensionhas problems control arm or somethign this shot if its brand new dont hesitate 5k on a broke suspension can destroy the car and you maybe sol if it brakes on the freeway.
I don't have the sport suspension on my A4. The noises are more like clicks(metal hitting metal) and the only time I hear them is over speed-bumps or larger potholes. These noises have been there since I got the car 3 months ago.
I am also suspecting that it's the brakes making those clicking noises, since the suspension/handling feels very solid, and there is no noise during hard turning. I am just wondering if the noises will go away with time.
Alot of B7er report about the brake noise, and dealership won't do a thing about it (wear and tear item). Some say if you try a few HARD braking, the sound will go away. Give that a try.
If you still not comfortable about it, have your dealership take a look. But NEVER admit it's your fault, say it was like that when you bought the car.
