Default A4 creeks when cold??

I Have an A4 1.8SE 96. When I go over speed humps it causes the car to make a loud creeking noise. I assume this is the suspension but what is strange is that it only does it when the car is cold. When I have been driving for 15 mins or so and go over bumps the noise isn't there at all!

I haven't had the car long so I dont know if it is caused just by the cold weather.

The noise seems to be coming from the front of the car but if I bounce the car in a stationary position it is silent.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I currently have the exact same problem. Sounds like a control arm issue. You don know there is a recall right?

No I wasn't aware of that! Was the recall for this exact problem or a similar one?
Seems strange how it only makes the noise when its cold. My brother had the same problem with his car and he had something injected into the rubbers which helped a little.

Yeah you can inject lube into the rubber boots, but it is only temporary. The recall is for this exact problem. Go schedule an appointment to have it examined.

I took the car to the audi dealer under the recall and one of the control arms was replaced but it did not fix the problem. I took it back to have it checked out again and it turns out that the C-Links which are part of the anti-roll bar need replacing. Unfortunately this is not under the recall!
