can anyone telll me the different generations of the A4, the years of each gen, the engine and horsepower. thanks. im supposed to be getting a car for graduation(highschool) and i like the firebird V8(98-01) but cant seem to find one in my area, and if i do its alot of $, the A4's seem to be less priced around those years and i read here that the 1.8 mod easily with chips and stuff. wats the gas mileage on the 1.8t's?thanks

when the engine changed did the car change with it? i guess what i mean is by looks and stuff...

 

The hp increase in 2001 was really just a few tweaks to the engine to include higher higher boost and variable valve timing. The 2.0t engine is totally redesigned.

Before 1999.5 the B5's had solid glass block two piece headlights. Then in 99.5 year they introduced xenon packages and projector headlights.

There have been 3 styles of taillights through the years.

get a 99.5 a4 1.8t quattro, best of both worlds, new body stly while still NDBW best for tuning

 

99.5 is still a B5?how would i tell the difference from a 99 and a 99.5?

 

99.5 has one piece projector headlights with seperate fog lights in the lower bumper.
