A4 Performance - Need More
Hello All,
New to this forum and was hoping to get some advice. I just bought a used A4, 1.8T, tiptronic (8000 miles) and I would like to get a little more from the engine. Without completely destoying my warranty, meaning chipping it, what would be the first steps that I should do so it doesn't feel like I was pulling a boat off the line.
Thinking exhuast, intake, diverter valve, and down pipe - but wanted some direction. Any advice would be great and successes with specifc manufacturers.
Thanks!

He just said he didn't want to chip. Intake will not provide any noticeable gains, and actually may hurt performance with heat soak. Exhuast should be a good mod. I would suggest getting new suspension parts like coilovers or lowering springs/shocks. That will give your car a more agressive feel.

Jestnomen, if you get a heat shield you shouldnt ahve a problem with heat soak, also when you normally buy the intake it comes with a heat sheid if you get it from LLTEK Motorsports. But wouldnt anything you put onto the car void the warranty?? I would first find out what doesnt void the warranty and go from there. Maybe Rims and tires thats about it

It depends on a lot of things. Some dealers don't care if you mod your car, others do. If you alter the intake and an engine proplem arrises, the dealer is probably going to blame that as the problem. If you change the exhuast they really can't blame that on engine problems. If you alter the suspension they may or may not void your warantee on suspension parts (control arms, etc).
