Default A4 Quattro as a "rally" car?

So behind this post, there is a story...

This past monday, one of my friends wanted to see my new car, which is a 1999 Audi A4 2.8 V6 Quattro. We both knew that it had 4 wheel drive, but being dumb kids (i'm 17, he's 16) we had to try taking it drifting. So we drove into an empty parking lot about the size of a typical gymnasium, hidden from view behind a large building. I put the car into third and at about 35 mph i make a sharp turn while accelerating more. What happens? The car sticks it. Completely. No squealing, no sliding of any kind. We try it again, but instead of letting out of the turn, i decided to make a full rotation (if we were sliding at all, it would be a donut) and what happens is we are driving in a circle about 15 ft in diameter at 30 mph. Though that was entertaining on its own accord, we wanted drifting. So i do it one last time, and this time in the turn i pull the e-brake, and finally we slid! Though it was short lived, we were satisfied.

Anyway, Ive since been thinking that most 4 wheel drive CARS can easily be retrofitted to rally race.

Anyway, I figured most cars I associate with rallying (Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution both come to mind) are 4 wheel drive. My car is also 4 wheel drive. My car has a decently powerful stock engine for its class, and from the story I do know it has wonderful stability. Now, I don't know anything about Audi's involvement in Rallying. But would my car make a good rally car?

Also, don't even start the "its expensive and dangerous" rants on me. I realize that and if I ever decide to delve farther into this I'm not just going to dive in and get a concussion/totaled car. I might be a dumb kid sometimes but I know what I can and can't do.

There is a guy on this forum that actually have done this with his B5. That's the only reason why i found your post lol
I forgot his screen name, but i remember he is russian(or from USSR) from colorado, had military green B5 1.8tqm with rollcage and stripped down interior. Im planing on building same type of car right now, but still searching for suitable B5

um, audi is famous for its rally wins. the ur was the most prolific rally champion of all time. torson based all wheel drive has been banned in many rally competitions because audi was so dominant with it.

if you want to go into a 4 wheel drift in your a4, get up to about 65 with esp off, then just wiggle the wheel enough to break loose. it will be a very pleasurable controllable drift. it's not a donut machine though.
