i am new in general.

i was looking at the specs between the 2001 a4 and the 2001 s4 and the difference in horse powers was 60. and the difference in price for a used on 60k miles was about 4,000 dollars.

is it possible to make an a4 be faster than an s4 under 1000 dollars? how much would i be looking at spending to make my a4 equivilant to an s4.

please debate, cause i am so new to even cars in general.

no, and about $4-5k for a complete bt setup, but it would waste an s4, old and new.

a k04 fully modded might be able to keep up with a stock 2.7t s4, that would be around $2-3k total.

btw, the newer s4's are 340hp V8, so its a even bigger difference then the 2.7t.

 

3-5k? were are these numbers coming from.. cuz everytime i calculate its like at least 8g's

 

APR Stage 3 is $4499, that is a good example to start with.

 

You then need clutch and exhaust, and install, that can fly way up there. But then again you could probably get all that stuff if you put together your own kit for the cost of the apr setup

 

well hes not talking about the 1.8, if he means 60hp diffrence then hes comparing the 2.8 30v with 190hp too the 2.7t with 250. so actualy his best bet would be too buy a 1.8 which is even slower then both of those stock, and bt it, or elim. if he really wants that hp.

but to anwser your question, no other then nitrous, you wont be able to make the 2.8 faster then the s4 with under 1 grand.

A gt28 eliminator kit would walk on a stock s4.

If you go BT get a GT28rs. A DIY fmic, injectors, exhaust, DV, chip, clutch/flywheel. You could prob do it all for alil over $4k if you do the labor yourself. Don't be scarred. Also you will want to do the suspension eventually, so coilovers will run you another $700-1200 depending on what you get.

You'll kill an S4 then .
