I am new to this forum. I bought my 97 audi a4 1.8T and I was wondering if anyone brave have tried to pack a 00+ audi s4 2.7 twin turbo in this car? They are both B5 body styles. I cant believe that this is impossible. I am willing to modify, can anyone help? I just want to know how the fitment is going to be.
Basicly me goal is to swap my 1.8T for a 2.7T and go from an automatic to a manual transmision. My audi mechanic tells me to just buy an s4, but this 19 year old doesnt have that money. I am willing to work and I am willing to pay.... for the parts. but there is no way possible I can buy an s4. I love this car the way it is but I have driven a 280 hrp a4 and i loved it. My goal is to make my a4 better than any a4 can be by making it into an s4, starting with the engine and tranny. can anyone help?

welcome to the forums, do a search this has been talked about many times, it is not only cost INEFFECTIVE it is a waste of time. There are bigger turbos for the a4 out there which can give you more hp out of your 1.8 than a stock s4 puts out. I would recommend, bigger turbo, programming 2.5 in downpipe, 2.5 in cat back exhaust, front mount and whatever nessesary parts needed for the turbo upgrade.

Like someone already said its pointless. you can buy a turbo for ur car that would put out alot more power than a stock s4, with the necessary upgrades taht go along with it.

Thanks, what i forgot to mention was that i was going to upgrade the stock s4 engine with larger turbos, manifold, chip, exhaust ect. but that is all money. what turbo would anyone recomend for my 1.8?

It might help if you started researching turbos yourself then come back with specific questions. There is tons of into if you just use the search button!

for the amount of money this will cose you espically with upgrading the turbo's on the S4 it will be a he!! of a lot cheaper to buy a S4 just for the turbo upgrade you are looking at $8000 and then you need a motor tranny drive shaft rear diff new ECU maybe if you can find a doner car but still a lot of work
