AIR, THAT IS .I have a 96 Audi A4, can anyone tell me what the possible causes are to this problem. The car sucks air through the fuel cap which also effects the idle at times.

Sucks air through the fuel cap... is there a hole in the fuel cap? Have you tried replacing the fuel cap. You shouldn't bitch like that if a) you haven't tried to fix it and b) might be able to be fixed by a $3.00 gas cap.

Have you replaced your spark plugs recently?

 

if there is air coming in through your gas cap a cel should come on.

what engine do you have? if it is a v6 then there is a lot of things that could cause that prob.

 

It's a 1.8 auto exe. All the simple checks like change the cap etc have been done.

 

Do you have a CEL?

 

I think he was being LITERAL, as the the A4 SUCKS air, becuase it is actually sucking air....


May be something with the gas tank/ evap system.

 

YEP? do you? i mispalced my gascap (like a dumbass) and replaced it for like 5 bucks. just buy a new cap!!!!!!
