Default A4 Tdi Quattro

Hi folks, just joined as a new member. Wondering how I find out how many of the A4 1.9 Tdi Quattro models were brought into the UK from the B5 (1995-1999 ish) model line. Anyone know where I can find this out. I got one in May, and am loving it, but haven't seen any others about, so I am assuming they are far and few between. 1997 R reg A4 1.9 TDi Quattro, Kingfisher Blue, 54600 miles. Also anybody know of the best value for money upgrades/tuning I could get done after this May, when the 1 year dealership warranty runs out. mpg will probably suffer, it isn't as good as I thought anyway, at usually 44mpg average. Regards, Richard

I know next to nothing about the TDI's... except that I'd like to have one.

Cheers, I am well happy with the TDi fuel efficiency coupled with the quattro grip and torque, however I do feel it could do with some more power at times. It is a heavy car due to the quattro system, and the new 130 or 150bhp cars must be a lot better. I will maybe get it tuned at some stage up to 130 or 135bhp. I have heard that your 1.8T engine is the best one for tuning though, and it must go like a rocket.

yeah with my chip the car has 200hp. Very nice to drive - feels like a totally different vehicle and can take on the larger v6 2.8 model easily.

I don't know what choices are available for tuning the 1.9 tdi engine. Might want to check the VW forums (jetta and golf tdi versions) just to get an idea.
