Default A4 Timing Belts

So, I have been doing a lot of research and I got a common sense of feeling that the timing belts on the Audis are totally unreliable and so are the water pumps. I'm not worried about other things as much as I do about these. I'm planning to buy the car at 63K miles, do you think it's worth replacing the timing belt now itself and not worry about the risk. There's no warranty on the car.

Thanks!

Yes, its definately worth it to change it now!

What year is the car? I think pre-2000's the waterpump is external, so you dont necessarily need to change it. anybody... feel free to chime in. I can never remember when the waterpumps were external...

Ah a 2.8L... now I know nothing of the waterpump. But for the cost of the kit... might as well do it all. Might save you a tow bill if the pump does die on you down the road.
