Hardwiring anything for those who wanted to know
V1 for a jetta
Thats the link on hardwiring a V1 radar into a Jetta...and i s kind of helpful..heres what i did for my 2000 Audi (mind you i hardwired strobelights that came with wires and not a plug. So you might have to cut off the plug.)
Ok..here goes
1) Buy the large fuse taps from either a good autoparts store or any automotive audio installer shoud have some. The cost about 30cents each..so..dont get ripped off.) You will also need a toggle switch which can also be bought for $3 in an autoparts store..
2) Open your fuse box and find an empty fuse slot.
3) Attach a ground wire to the designated pin on switch. Wrap in electrical tape.
4) Attach the wire from the radar to the pin marked accessory
5) Attach wire from fuse tap to power pin on switch.
6) You will also need to take the second wire from the cord from the radar and ground it too. If you unscrew one of the screws inside the fusebox and then retighten with groundwires behind you'll be fine.
7) Take a flathead screwdriver and help push fusetap into fuse slot.
8) Check wiring and make sure oyu cover all connections in electrical tape.
I'll post pictures tomorrow which will probably make things easier...but the link above basically covers it...
