Can I pull an 800 pound waverunner with 2004 A4 (1.8T quattro manual)? Local dealer is not sure (not suprising)...
Any help and links appreciated.
Thanks.

i wouldn't see why not....i've seen civics towing small trailers....just take it easy on the gas....there is at least one person on this forum with a tow-hitch installed on his a4, and 800 pounds isn't much....you can figure that's about 3 average americans riding with you

I have a trailer hitch and u can def. tow that. I've towed a snowmobile that was a little more than that. You will be just fine.

I'm going to modify the roof of my Audi with fifth wheel hitch so I can tow a big *** camper. I was going to use bolts through the roof to attach the hitch, but I think I'll give superglue a try first.

Thanks for your answers and suggestions. 3 average americans? Funny, but very sad and true. I work with Japanese and need 10 of them to simulate that much weight...
Found a nice trailer hitch on www.etrailer.com and a trailer wiring harness to draw power from a 12v source such as a battery or an outlet. It is recommended not to tap directly into 12 v rear tailight assembly, can cause computer error messages and certain things may not work properly (power windows, locks, engine management - kidding).. Not sure what jukeit will do in his roof hitch installation case? May I suggest a yamaha generator installed in the trunk of your car to power your camper before you start supergluing away!
I can get you a great deal on yamaha products, just cant sell them for a year.
Good luck

Great call on the generator. I've also decided to get a lift kit for the car and install a winch on the front. I should be good to hit the jeep trails after that.

FYI - don't use superglue to install a hitch. It doesn't work very well and kind of messed up my paint. I'm going to try liquid nails next.
