Good luck and take some pics of taking the door appart while youre at it if you can. Would be a good DIY article to get to things like the speakers/windows, etc.

ya the door handle cover comess out but i dont think the tweeter covers do. Even if they did you wouldnt be able to get at them to disconnect or pop out. Do whatever you want but just be careful not to break anything i guess.

If I remember right its not going to be as simple as getting a new tweeter( if going to the dealer) I'm fairly sure that the tweeter is connected(wired) through the door speaker so your going to need a new set - now depending on if they sell them as a set or seperate I don't know - my rear deck woofers were sold seperate but they also listed for $210/each - OUCH -

why couldnt I just get a used set of tweeters or an aftermarket and just cut the wire half way down inbetween the speaker and the tweeter and splice th new tweerers in

That would be great - I'm no expert, I don't know what hooking up a 4ohm speaker to a 1.5ohm system will do. Good luck - as always post pics or a DIY

well it would draw less current i would ausme.. might not work because the tweeter might not get enough power.. why would it be 1.5ohm for a tweeter.. that seems really really low..

Thats the independance that Bose uses for it speakers I think - it was somthing weird 1.5 or 2 ohm something like that. its a way for them to make sure that you have to come back to them. Got any good junk yards around your area?
