A4 Upgrades
I've been spying this forum for a little bit and have to say that some of you gurus are the bomb! In other words, keep up the nice work! Yet, now I have some ?s for you all.</P>
1. I'm looking to get 225-240 Crank HP, I've looked through Tap1.com and neuspeed and found the options I want to get. I plan on getting a bottom mount intercooler and upgrading the injectors to handle 300+HP.</P>
My tough question here is: Should I bother upgrading the fuel pump, and if I do.. what one should I get? (Brand name, other audi, other vw?)</P>
2. So I plan on having the mid 2s on the crank, I haven't forgotten to get a beefier clutch/lighter flywheel andI doplan on doing a 2-stage nitrous kit with a 30 shot and a shot that will add another 40 to make a 70 shot when it really counts.
I've never seen Audi and nitrous on this forum and I'm wondering thumbs up or down. I plan on using dry nitro, (glad I wrote that) and I'll be injecting right before the intercooler.. see any problems?</P>I know nitrous is a little controversial in the racing scene but.. I don't care I want performance on demand and it is truly the cheapest HP for the dollar! 70hp shot from a nitrous kit under $700.... $10 : 1HP = CHEAP!</P>
The car is not going to be daily driven, it will be babied and it will be redlined often..
I plan on using 92 octane... see any problems yet?</P></P>
There's a reason you rarely see audi and nitrous... its because it is not really considered healthy for our car. I know of one guy who totally fried his internals. People have used it successfully in the past, however.
I assume you are running a 1.8t engine. FMIC will help. Any ideas on what turbo you plan to use?

Ive been thinkin bout gettin a prespool nitrous setup. I wouldnt think that would be to big of a problem but I cant find any info on it either.......I dont really like the Idea of running nitrous and 15psi though thats why it would be strickly prespool.....
I'm hearing good about the K04 and the neuspeed upgrade kit seems like a good deal, it's on Nopi for less than MSRP and they exhaust header is also available. Now that I think of it, 14~15psi seems a little dangerous with N2O and perhaps I should look away from that. I'm looking for awesome power (240+ range) with streetability and not deafen my passengers. I know the A4 isn't the best way to get hundreds of horsepower, I want a nice vehicle with some pull away speed to show up a few Hondas on a Saturday Night with my Audi full of chicks. <IMG src=smileys/smiley10.gif border="0"></P>
I get 15 psi all the time with my simple GIAC chip and a stock turbo. Get yourself a FMIC and a K04 w/ exhaust and you will be a force to be reckoned with - maybe 240hp there.
You could always blow massive cabbage and get the APR Stage III kit for $4000, or the PES t-28 supercharger kit for $3500. K04 kit costs around $1500 (not including exhaust which is required)
K04~ 240 hp
PES~ 280 hp
Stage III~ 290 hp
After that your left with the insane mods - boring out the throttle body, machining the head to support larger cams, crap like that...
heh heh I remember reading on AW about a guy with a WRX who was pushing 25psi and was using nitrous shots. He totally fried all his internals and then tried to get the dealer to fix it under warranty - they turned him down so he went to another subi dealer (and eventually a third dealer who also turned him down)... word got around and then he got in s**t for fraud.

yeah that could get bad...thats why Im thinking prespool like low Rpm nitrous shot to get the car moving and the turbo spining and when the nitrous system sees like 4psi of boost it shuts down and lets the turbo do the rest.....sounds good in thoery right?.....</P>
hey if yah ganna blow $4K on a turbo why not just throw another grand at it and get the Disco potato turbo from www.goapr.comfor$5K thas a sick setup</P>

look here https://www.audiforums.com/forum_pos...D=932&PN=1stick wit the TT valve I say!</P>
BOV = bad. BPV = good.
If you're chipped, you might as well go with an aftermarket aluminum diverter valve. I've had the TT valve for about a year and it is dying on me. I can feel it in the boost - its starting to feel bouncy.
If you're not chipped - a BPV beyond stock is not going to do anything for you. The stock BPV can handle the stock 9psi easily.<edited><editID>brrman</editID><editDate>38061.6590856481</editDate></edited>

i just got rid of my 2003 audi A4 1.8t because of lemon law. when i first got the car i knew nothing about the import industry. i came from the whole truck scene. anyways i put a BOV on my first one and it did nothing but distroy my car. at first i love it do to the loud blow off noise. but really i lost about20 hp by having it. after about a month i car stated to stall at low RPM's. i took the BOV and took it to the dealership. and the computer system was messed up. so my car stayed at the dealership for 36 days and they could fix the problem.<IMG src=smileys/smiley6.gif border="0">but it all worked out i got my downpayment back and all my payments. and bought the new Audi i drive now so NO BOV on any audis.
