Default ABS Brake warning lights

My ABS light is on along with my red brake light blinking. I need the lights to turn off so the car can pass inspection. Any suggestions?

you got wat i had..actually a common prob in b5 audi's...the bosche abs control unit is tha same one used in BMW's only difference is BMW considers anti-lock bracks standard so they had a recall for this unit, audi considers it an option therefore it wasnt recalled. on my car instead of buyin the module for 700$ i paid my mechanic 20$ to rewire it to bypass and now i dont have the light on or anti-lock brakes, but beats 700$...another option is to have it refurbished u cant fdrive ur car for a week and that costs like 250$ they send it out, but the work typically isnt garunteed, thats why i took the route i did

I had the same issue .. i would suggest gettin it fixed .. maybe you can findone from the junk yard with low miles .. if not, I would assume you can find some shop willing to pass your inspection for extra money ..

My abs controller is broken also. Since it never affects braking I just ignore it, eventually I'll have it rebuilt.
