When i bought my car 6 months ago the guy told he had just changed the brake pad and he told me that the ABS light was on and the Brake blinking because he put some other brake pad instead of audi.
and audi brake pads has a sensor...i didnt care then..but it bothers me...the car is braking fine...

well the same thing is happening to me right now. I changed my brake pads and rotors and went with an after market pad that had a sensor so i could plug mine into. But shortly there after i got theabs light and flashing brakeone too. I checked my pad connections and they are fine so im also interested to find out what it might be the verdict to this annoying problem.
If you have the (0) symbol on your dash and ALSO the BRAKE light that blinks, that is usually in indicator of a bad ABS module. If you have just the pad symbol (0) then either your pads have no life left on them or the sensor is disconnected. If you have new padsand sitll have the (0) symbol because you didnt get pads that have the wearsensor, you can splice the 2 wires together that come from the cars wiring that are supposed to plug into the pad wiring harness. So:
Wiring for pad wear sensor fromcar=============<connector>==========Wir ing for pad wear sensor from brake pad
I dont recomend just snipping off the connector at the end of the wiring from the car that plugs into the pad wiring. You might want it again later. Id just use a jumper between the wires about halfway down before the connector.

I also have this problem with the abs light on and the flashing brake light. So if i don't want to spend the money (I don't really need abs anyway) to replace the module can it be just disconnected and the lights will stay off? Is it possible to disconnect the module myself???

I have been driving for 6 months with a bad control modual, in snow, water and ice. ABS is unneeded. I am not retarded and am able to pump my brakes.

I am the ******* on the interstate going 80 still while everyone else does 40. Yes there was a few instences this winter where I got sideways when breaking too hard but for many years cars where almost twice as heavy with no ABS and far less braking ability then they have now. If you hit someone who spins out in front of you most likely you were too close in the first place.
