Default AC help

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with names and part numbers for the two metal hoses that are seen on the underneath passenger side of the vehicle when the bellypan is off. One of the hoses has cracked for hitting a major bump. My AC didnt blow cold so I got it recharged and refridgerant put in, now I just hear hissing from the hose and I assume I will be without a cold AC in a little while. How expensive of a repair is this going to be?

Youre probably looking any where between$500-$800 depending on the price of those hoses, with the replacement of the hoses & then another recharge. Ican find out exactly if I have vehicle info???.

I'll try and check for the part price at work tomorrow. I would think hose itself would be that much. Which hose is it?

Recharge is going to kill you again though. Ouch, I'm in the same boat after my ac condensor was damaged.

I have a 98 A4 (B5), 1.8T Quattro. The hose that is split is the rear most hose (next to the axle). I dropped a hundred on the recharge and fill only to get home to hear that great hissing sound. I think I invented some new curse words today [:@]

Sorry about the thread jack but I wanna know where to get the Audi parts manual on CDROM. Having all that info would be really helpful. Can the entire program be downloaded? Other than the dealer, who wouldn't give it to me anyway, where can I find it?

So are these so called "hoses" just part of the entire condenser? ......if so, it sucks that they are so close to the f#!*ing ground......not that a plastic bellypan protects a lot anyway
