Default AC Problems . . .

Well as i said i was hit by some old lady,

I thought it was couinsidence that my AC stopped working, however i went in to have it recharged yesterday and as they were filling it, it just leaked right out the bottom. . . I have no experience with dealing with this type of problem, where to look for leaks etc. . . any ideas?

It was leaking outjust behind the bumper on the passenger side. . .

(that sweet ride in the background is my loaner from the shop )

ps. i know i know, the coilovers are coming. . i swear!

Sounds like an insurance claim item to me.

Let the shop figure out how to fix it, and have her insurance pay for it.

yeah. . . the thing is im partially fibbing to the insurance company. . . my buddies dad owns a bodyshop and i told the insurance company i was going there to have it fixed. he isnt charging me labor so i should have more money to spend than the general repairs. . i would like to get ecodes and an S4 bumper. . . so i am trying to save money else where too. . .

just thought maybe it was possible it could be a simple fix

but yeah i get what youre saying

Well, the compressor is right where you described.
So, maybe there is a bad connection going to the compressor, or the compressor itself isbroken somehow.
Usually they puta dye in it and charge, so they can see whrere it is leaking. Onceyou find the leak, you'll know more what needs to be replaced.
Pull off the belly pan, and see if you can see an obvious loose/broken connection. There are two big hoses going to/from the compressor.

The AC condensor is right behind the bumper in front of the radiator, Im guessing thats where your problem is... But like ace said, let your insurance worry about it.

I wouldnt touch anything... Your insurance company might **** you if they have reason to believe you made anything worse, wether you did or not. You DO have insurance right?
