As soon as I handed him a check I called progressive and insured it....I thinkinsurance companiesrealize it takes a few weeks to change the title into your name.

If it had been several months and the title still wasn't changed over to my name, may have been more of an issue.

lol if I was thinking more clear at the time I probably woulda lost it...i was just relieved to be alive. Plus right away she was apoligizing...I'd still like to know why she lost control, she wasn't going around a sharp corner or anything
Because she didn't have quattro! (and because she is a woman).

Sorry to hear about the crash. How did the car hold up? Would you say the incident made you feel like Audi is pretty safe to drive?

to answer you question yes you can insure any car you want as long as you know the make modle and have the vin number.. dosent matter who's name the car is in.. you can insure the car in your name and if something happens to the car the company pays you because you purchased the policy... same thing works for life insurance, you can insure your wife or children and name yourself the benificiary..

I got a call from state farm today...they said they're going to try and repair it. It was sent to LaMettreys in Richfield...they are going to tear it apart tomorrow and then I'll know for sure if it's going to be repaired. I took a couple pictures at the tow yard today.... I didn't realize the trunk got smashed in too.

Do I have any options for getting them to total it? I suppose I'm kind of at there mercy...anyone have any experience in this?

dude sad to say, that looks totalled, i do not see how the repair bill on that will be cheaper than buying a new audi, i would urge them to total it out for you, buy the car back though and sell the parts, i find it as a good way to gain some money and buy a nice new car, not saying yours was bad by any means

I wish I could do more for them to total it the problem is I'm not really sure what I can do besides beg them lol....Oh and according to Minnesota state law, the airbags do not count in determining if it's totalled, that was passed last year I guess. The repairs must equal 70% of the cars vaule for it to be totalled, so if the car was worth 17,000....the repairs would have to cost 11,900...it will be close without the airbags.

whata ghey law, do they expect you to pay for those airbags?? or her insurance?? i don't get how the airbags are nto added on to the repair bill, the repairing of a vehicle is suppose to make how it was before an accident, minnesota is ghey move to montana we don't have gay laws, i mean in the law book if there is 5 indians together, its considered an congregation or somethign and you are free to open fire, doubt u'll get away with it but u know, montana is the **** in my mind. minnesota is fine though (except when all you guys come here to ski, and they NEVER know how to park ) ok im done sorry
