Adjust Camshafts
Hey guys,
I recently got an 1998 A4 2.8L V6. Upon changing the water pump, I accidentally moved the camshafts out of time, I didn't have the locking bar at the time but now I do.
My question is, how can I adjust the camshafts into position so that I can place the holding bar? Right now, the two camshafts are not horizontal and I'm looking for a way to place them horizontally so I can put the locking bar.
Thanks in advance.
Erick

your going to have to pop the valve cover off both heads and turn the engine until its at tdc
make sure all for cams are at this mark

make sure to count the links between marks

once they are you need to make sure the crank pully is marked at the same time
the pic below is not timed correctly you can see the line is off by a half inch or so this caused me major problems
