Does your aftermarket kit utilize the stock connectors? If there not hooked up they will say they areout due to an open signal.

How are the HID's hooked up?

Is it a relay wire harness, where it uses 1 headlight stock connector as a trigger or is each ballast hooked up to the stock connector of each headlamp?

I have a 2003 A4 and I upgraded both Headlights and Fog lights to 12,000K HIDs.

My headlight system is hooked up with each ballast connect to each stock plug. I don't get the lamp error, but my fog lights are hooked up using the relay and trigger and with that I do get the lamp error.

I know there is a resistor pack mod that can be done to trick the car into thinking that the lamp is working. You have to imitate the load of a 55w lamp using a resistor. I haven't really looked into to it but you might find one on Google as this is a common problem in new cars and upgrading to HID or LED.

cheers...

You need to add resistors in paralell that use 20 watts on each side.

Can a pair of stock audi Bi-Xenon headlights be installed on a car that didn't come with the Xenon? Would the wire harness support it?

yeah it suppose to be a "plug and play system" and it has a inline fuse but no relay. anyone know where i can find out how to hook up the resistors at?

If you cycled the key with the connectors dis-connected it will throw a hard fault that won't go away until you erase them, have someone with a vag com erase the fault codes and see if it comes back.

Not purple at all. The fogs look white blue and the lows are a bit more blue because of the projection headlights.

Pictures will follow... I'm going out to take them.
