Default air conditionsing

Can some one please help me out. When im sitting at a stand still my a/c gets warm. I thought it was that the cabon air filter could be clogged but that wasnt it so. I put a pressure tester on the line and it would be at 50 pounds witch is normal, so im told, but then theres a click and the pressure spikes up to 90-100 pounds and then it clicks again and the pressure goes back down. Can someone tell me if that is normal or if i have something very wrong?
Thanks--Mike

50 to 40 PSI is normal @ idle, you have to have a gauge on the high side aswell
to see wat teh pressure is the clicking you hear is the comp clucth kicking
in and out, If the low side pressure goes to high then the system is over charged.
Has this started now or was it like that befor ???

put a thermometer up to it while you're moving. if its anywhere above 50* then it needs to be recharged. Mine would be semi cool during driving, sitting in traffic it would feel like 60* comming out.

I got it recharged, since I have a 96 and there's no low pressure side. It works great now, 30-40* and I freeze my *** off after a couple minutes. I had it done at sears for $106

The temperature should be 40 degrees F colder than the outside temperature.
