Default Air/Fuel Gauge

I installed my air/fuel gauge yesterday and i hooked it up to the gray wire on the O2 sensor before the CAT, did i do it right because as i drive it stays in the same part as it is in idle, it goes all the way down when car is off but when i turn on its at about 1/4 of the way up and stays there at all times even when im driving, is this normal?

I believe most a/f guages don't work worth a sh*t unless you run a wideband o2 sensor.

Actually a 1999, but i believe is the same crud. so i guess it is just something blingy then. Oh well, at least it looks good, i got the dual gauge pillar pod and it looks pretty nice.

aem makes a wideband that runs completly independant from the cars ecm, comes with the gauge and controller for around 300$, even a cheap a/f gauge should do some sweeping around...unless the o2 is lazy and in need of replacement
