The lltek 2.8 intake is complete and everything fits right, if you open the hood, you can't see the intake at all. If you want to spend the time to get everything to fit and stuff, go fot it. Otherwise cough up the money and get the real thing.

K&N doesn't make an intake, they make a filter for our cars... right?

no kn just simply makes filters stock replacements or universals. the one in the kit is universal and goes with the kit hell that filter is alone worth that almost. ya ur payin for lltek name. hum lets see spend 250 or 60 for the same performance....no brainer

I'm buying a used LLtek intake off some guy on the forum....it fits his A6 2.8, so I've got my fingers crossed that it will fit my B5 2.8 also. (Guy at LLTek says it will...but didn't sound all that convincing)

Does Lltek install K&N filters in their products, or do they have their own brand of filters? Do they require oil like K&Ns...I don't want that stuff getting all over my MAF.

lltek does use K&N filters, you don't have to worry about getting oil over anything unless you use WAY too much oil when you clean the filter.

all this 'real thing' stuff is crap when we're talking about a short ram on a NA car. that intake will be fine, if it fits right. perf wise, name brand is gonna field you about 2hp more... which could also be the difference btw a cold and warm day...
procarparts sells decient stuff, it'll fit well. i'd check and see if they're going to guarantee it first though, just ot be safe.
if they're going to guarantee the fitment, and the quality of rubber (so it doesn't wear out) it has a K&N (proven to be good... obviously) all that's cheap is that short metal tube.
on a tube that size, the 'warmer air than a plastic tube' doesn't mean anything.
