ok so i was lookin at the airbox mod topic and got kinda lost. I've read on my local vw/audi forum that cutting plastic is bad and that all i really need to do is remove the foam or somethin like that.

 

cutting the plastic is NOT bad!

there is no FOAM in the box just your filter. what you do is take out the box remove the FILTER and cut some holes from your box to the wheel liner. then, put the filter back in and you done.

oh yea, don't forget to put some screening of some sort inbetween the box and the wheel liner.

My car started throwing a CEL soon after the airbox mod...not sure that was a wise mod.

 

i dont think the airbox mod had anything to do with your cel did you pull a code ?

Yeah, I was pulling a 411 and a 171 if I remember correctly. It seems to be off and on, but the problem is still there.
