Default Airconditioning

Hi there, im trying to recharge my AC on my 96 A4 2.8 Quattro, however i cant find the port were you recharge it at. I found the larger cold tube in the upper left corner where it should be, however no place to 'plug in' There is a sensor there where the port should be, is the port behind that sensor? Or is it somewhere else on the car?

You have to take the weather stripping/seal off the firewall between the battery and engine and slide the cover out to expose the charge lines/battery box/ ecu box/brake master cylinder.

im not sure what sensor. its connected to the low pressure line of the AC. I thought the port was behind it. Also i checked behind that weather strip, nothing behind that except the cabin filter

no your right, thats what it looks like. The sensor that im talking about goes out from the spot. The 2 lines, high pressruse and low pressure lines for the AC correct? Ill have to look again, but that rubber gasket there, i think its right agains my firewall. Ill post new when i look again.

thats weird because on mine the high pressure service port is right on the condensor when you open the hood... 96 2.8 as well.... and i was told by a tech friend at audi that you can only charge the high side with a 134 machine

btw mine does not look like that at all when you take the molding off
