just bought a A4'02. It has 18" custom wheels. Anyone have recomendations for a qaulity alarm? looking to spend up to 500$, including installation.

Viper, or full coverage insurance if you dont have negative equity.

 

i know must of us hate best buy ... but they sell viper and will often do free installation with purchase of one of their kits .... so could be worth checking out if considering...

 

Get a Viper alarm with 2-way Pager. I don`t know how much worth but I had no problems with it at all.

 

Viper alarm kits normally run around $300 at Best Buy. it's a good system as long as you remember to use it. Note that the claim of a 6 mile range is only in an open area where there's nothing between the reciever/transmitter/remote etc. but it still does get much better range than any stock alarm remote ever will. If you are willing to spend 500, i might also invest in a tracker system if i were in your position. we've had a couple of people on this board that have had their newer audis stolen in the last week or two.


Though I have a related question. can you set up your viper alarm system to arm/disarm through your stock audi key remote? i would feel foolish having such a nice keyremote that i dont use because i have an aftermarket alarm.
