i have the sohc 2.8 12v 172 hp and 185 torque i think thats the torque anyway not sure. anyway as far as mods go i know what i need to do for an all motor beast but would i have had more potential with the 1.8t? and i cant believe i go tthe car with the 172 engine when the year later had the 190 207 lb engine~!!!!! if i mod it is it even worth it??? ill start with an intake because im strained on cash and my dad wont let me mod it til i pay him off which will be like spring depending on wha thappens in court thursday. its a 5 spd by the way id never mod an auto no offense

 

For the money, the 1.8 is going to get you down the line much faster for a lot less money, with the 2.8 you are not going to get much horse power out of it without spending the "proverbial wad".

 

you might as well not mod your car... the 12v's are nice for reliability but they are just not for performance mods...

There is not 12v Supercharger/Turbocharger kit I know of...

You could sell you car, get a 1.8T .. and chip it .. that brings it to about 200HP/230TQ

I've seen a few vids of supercharged 12vs and they are spent too much money...

IMHO Superchargers BLOW... whiney b1tches that drain on your motor

 

Sell that **** and get a 1.8T or a 30v. If you are strapped for cash, the 12V is not the Audi you want to try to make fast.

 

but on the other hand, if your strapped for cash, keep the 12v because they are the most reliable engines in the A4's

 

well if you have a 12V you aint modding **** .

and they didnt offer autos on the 12v 2.8

 

yes as they all said the 12 v is not the audi to mod. but if you do, dont put an intake on it, you will end up loosing power

haha now thast depressing!!!! i mean it feels deecently fast but yeah my dad would prolly never let me sell it haha but when i graduate hs in the summer maybe i will but a reliable car is a good thing these days. i should of kept my prelude!!! jk but yeah do they have a 1.8t 5 spd? of course right, well ar ethey more expensive than the 30v? and how would an aftermarket intake lose hp? short ram anyway

 

i love my 2.8 its pretty fast. alot faster then the 1.8T esp off the line. but there is more to mod on the 1.8T then there is on the 2.8
