Almost built!
ic ic, arnt you afraide to run it hard at all till then, i know i would be esp if this was motor #3 and turbo # 10 lol, so does one of your buddies go out to tune with you, or what, i know with the Ms system Id go out and tune on the motor while my cousin drove and hit all the boost and rpm levels, it was almost like a game with the tuning, trying to hit the correct numbers and all, great fun man, lol
Yea my roomate goes out and tunes with me, we have a little system because he also has standalone on his wrx and he took an efi course. The thing is you can't baby a motor after your built it otherwise the rings wont properly seal, and you will have compression problems down the rd. Its not completly tuned, still need to tune the fuel up top, but its about 10.2-10.7 to one on boost, which obviously isnt tuned, but it is safe
Well making progress, just got back from a successful trip to Canada to meet up with Chris (Headshock) and Neil (Clconversion), thanks for the dinner guys! Car seemed to behave for the most part, but this was the first drive of any real distance on this motor... and I put it through some of its paces.
The other night i took everything apart, reheat wrapped everything, built a new dumptube, another couple oil changes, and did some tuning, added an "air filter". Tonight on my way to Canada I pegged my boost gauge in 3rd, i'm guessing it was about 26psi, the gauge goes to 20 and it was well past that, but the a/f looks great, and egt's havent broken 1100 yet, gotta pull the plugs again in the am and see how they look, and turn the boost down to 23 or so for daily driving.
Tomorrow I make the 400mi drive home from school...hauling two bottom ends, two jeep transmissions, as well as all my other crap... its fun when your race car is your only car
One very scary thing, the oil pressure light came on tonight twice, right at about 1500 rpm, and turned off once i got the revs up to like 2500 or so, so I gotta keep an eye out, I checked it out with the gauge a few days ago and it looked fine, gotta replace the sensor and see if it comes back.
Anyways figured I'd post a couple pics that my drunken friend took the other day since people keep asking about my progress

Not to bad this time, I did all the work, myself, honing, measuring clearances etc, so no labor costs. The rods were 350, bearings, rings, and stuff were about 300, I had good pistons laying around, $10 on paint, 35 on heat wrap, $7 for the dump tube tubing, and that was about it, the other stuff i scavenged from the dumpster
