I am having an independent mechanic replace my timming belt, wich in the process will replace the tensioner belts, and the water pump. I also asked him to upgrade the engine mounts to performance snub mounts. are there only three of those? This is all he is going to do unless i ask him for more. Is there anything else that i really should have him replace or upgrade while he is in there? He is already cutting me a deal on the snub mounts.

Any advice is needed guys, i really need to get this work done so i want to get it done right.

 

replace your tensioners along with the timing belt and serpentine belt.. replace your thermostat and your water pump. as for the snub mount, there is only 1. your engine mounts and your snub mount are 2 different things to some extent. your engine mounts have bolts that connect the engine to the engine supports. your snub mount is pushed over a cylindrical post or stub. the snubmount then slides inside a 2" or so hole on your lock carrier at the front of your car offering some support to the front of your engine.so you might wanna just stick with doing the snub mount unless you need new engine mounts.

 

Nows not a bad time to due camshaft adjuster seals and camshaft radial seals. Especially if they are showing early signs of leakage. Theres some repeat labor to do those.

This is what i got so far.

-Upgrade to performance snub mount.
-Water pump, Thermostat
-Timming belt, Tensioner Belt, Serpentine belt. My friend said to have them replace all the polly's? ( he said they are related to power steering belts and stuff like that.
-What is the fan clutch or spp electric fan?
- Also i havent had my 100K mile service yet, should i just ask him to do that while he is in there?
