I wrote to Audi in order to tell my disappointment that Audi is making the A4 4' or so longer. I think the Audi A4 is at the right sports size. If people want to buy something bigger, why don't people just go for the A5 or A6? I will be buying a 2005-2008 'old' model just because of its size. After that, I don't think I will buy A4's anymore. I would buy a BMW 300 series instead.

Cry Cry. The A5 is a 2 door last time i checked and the A6 is not very appealing imo.
But your entitled to your opinion and have fun with your beamer in 10 years.

 

They're making it 4" longer to position the engine towards the center, since the A4 is very nose heavy. It will handle even better

 

Not to mention that it will have a usable back seat. Maybe thats why they are offering a 2 door now so they can justify having a small back seat. Myself, I am 6'3" and my seat is back so far, there is only about an inch between the back of my seat, and the front of the back seat.

 

4" is seriously deterring you from buying a car ?

Its good that they are extending the length to improve weight distribution. This is a necessary step to stay competitive with other cars in this class. Not sold on the looks though... I dont think they will be available until the fall.

the a5 is on the same platform as the new b8 a4... which will be sick and improved... i promise

 

they were able to move the wheels further up, no? so that they can move the engine more towards the center, creating a better center of gravity...
