Default Amb vs. Awm

Hello, Pardon my ignorance but im somewhat computer illiterate. Ive tried searching and came up with so much information I confused myself. I have a 2002 a4 with an Amb engine. My lovely wife drove it despite the "No Oil Pressure" light flashing in her face. Yup, oil pump gone. Well of course it cant be that easy to fix. The turbo now howls like my dog when the bitch next door is in heat, and the top end has a very concerning rattle. Now even though this car is near mint, Im not spending the $2500 quoted from the salvage yards to buy an engine that the wife can cripple again. Ive found an Awm engine from a Vw. Ive searched and come up with different answers every time. Can I simply swap engines without digging into anything electrical? or could i simple swap heads and turbo's and buy a new pump? any help greatly appreciated!!

I would think you will need a whole new (rebuilt/used) engine. If metal got into the turbo it probably got into the cylinders as well.

Not sure about the different types being swappable. Hopefully someone more knowledgable can respond to that.
