Isn't the general concensus that these don't increase performance and in some cases decrease performance? This is not the same as a cold air intake? I think I'm confusing the two.

He's talking about the turbo to crossover pipe hose not the airbox to turbo hose. At least the picture is of an aftermarket turbo to crossover hose. A CAI would replace the airbox to turbo section.

edit: strike that I'm wrong forget I said anything. It is the airbox to turbo hose. It flows better than the stock hose but doesn't replace the airbox the way a CAI would.

go with the extreme bc it doesnt have the restrictive 1" inlet like the oem samco. the oettinger made a 8hp gain on the b6 on a dyno but then again that inlet hose is 800 bux so im more than sure u will see a gain with the neuspeed. i had the stock samco on my k04. dont know if it did anything but it deff wont collapse bc those hoses r stiff as hell. id say if u r stayin in the k series turbos id deff get a neuspeed

i mean it wouldnt be my first performance mod, it would only be purchased if i already got a new test pipe, chip, modified air box, and maybe an exhaust. then if i had $256 laying around which wont be happening anytime soon then i will buy it. btw, with just a new ko4 and nothing else, nothing but the replaced k03 for a k04, what are the numbers?

since u have the 01 id go with upsolute for a k04. i dont think anyone makes a better chip for the awm with the k04. i had it and loved it. thing would spike to 25 psi. it required a mbc, 310cc. ud need to set ur mbc to 20 psi so it doesnt go limp but u can do a diode mod on ur map sensor to help prevent closing throttle
