Default another engine problem!

Seems like problems come in pairs.

First, my 2nd cylinder was misfiring for some reason. Then the car refused to start. Changed out the Denso spark plugs in favor of NGK ones, seemed to solve the problem...for a little bit. Now the car flutters at idle, RPMs dip between 600-1200 and the car vibrates a little intermitently.[:@]

Any ideas guys?

Try the throttle body alignment. Turn the key to the on position and leave it there without starting the car for about 45 seconds or so. Haven't done this myself, but have seen it posted multiple times in the past as a solution to what you are describing.

Fieldy,

900+ posts and you dont know about this? I learned about it through searching, but wouldnt be able to explain to you exactly how it works or what is going on when it is aligning.. I know I tried it once and the engine seemed to be more responsive and idle smoother.

from what I just researched, you seem to need a VAG COM to do this, so i am F*cked because I don't have one

any other thoughts/ideas?

How did you find out cyl. 2 is missfiring without a VAG. What did you gap the plugs at also, should be .030-.032" Even
After you do a TBA the rpms will still bounce a little b/c your ecu is adapting to the new settings. Normally smooths out over a few startups.
