I'd like to make a side comment about the poor reception I'm getting even with the stock radio. Seems when ever I turn on the rear defroster I get almost no reception. I think I'm going to get XM or Sirus.

EDIT: yeah our antenna is in the rear glass... so turning on the rear defroster could definately screw with that. I have one of these antenna things already, but apparently they are prone to going bad. I dunno how... but that's the word on the street!

 

i have a 98 as well and aftermarket deck and my reception sucks, i say your post with the link to the ebay item, were doenst hat go on the deck, i just pulled my deck out ot look if the antenna wire was connected and didnt see were that would go?

 

It goes in line, with the regular antenna wire... in between the antenna wire and the plug on the radio. The wire coming off of it goes to power antenna, I think? I can't even remember.
