So after a shitload of years of searching, I know basically what I can or cannot do with my 2.8 30v (I also have a 12v that collects dust since I got the 30v). But what I really want to know is since so many sites have upgrades for the 1.8T or S4s what parts will actually fit my 2.8 beside the standard interchangeable visual mods? For instance, fuel injectors, intake manifold, cold air intake etc. Also, I know that my 12v is basically the same engine as the Passat VR6 but what upgrades for that engine are interchangeable too (eg. cams, rods, etc.) Is it hydraulic or not? I've also seen pics of an S4 exhaust that looks almost identical to my two cat exhaust too. Any and every detail of experience is appreciated.

your 30V is actually nothing like the VR6. about the only similarities they have is the fact that there's 6 cylinders...

what year is car? cause i kno if you have the 99, theres a few swaps from the 99.5 you can do.

 

TO Belligerence, I was refering to the 12v 96 b5 being like the vr6. Am I wrong?
Otherwise 01afour: I have a 99, but how do I determine if it's a 99.5? If so what does that get me?
The kind of answers I was looking for was maybe like brake kits from an S4 or things like RS4 motor mounts etc. smarty pants' .8T lovers...

check the sticker on ur driver door to see the manufacture date. if it says like 06/99 then i think it's a 99.5. feel free to correct me if im wrong

 

99.5 models have one piece headlights, non gimpy passenger side mirror, different door handles/molding, etc.
