How about suspension? Any way to check if I have stock sport susp? I noticed the shocks were red and the ride is much better than my 12V. It doesn't sit lower or anything but just asking.

Red shocks indicate its a sport. It should sit a littlelower than your 12v unless it has aftermarket springs.

 

ya, you're still wrong. the VR6 is a transverse-mounted narrow angle V6 with a single cylinder head. the 12V 2.8 used on 96 and 97 A4's (among other things) is a conventional longitudinally mounted V6 with 2 cylinder heads, one for each bank.

 

also one little difference is the 99.5's dont have the windshield squirters on the hood theyre under the hood.

 

Motor mounts will swap over. Possibly the alternator. B5 S4 rear brakes bolt in. Larger and wider rotors and a stronger caliper. S4 guys love using 2.8 heads. Since the S4's have turbo's the exhaust system will def not bolt in.

Nice Whip BaconBait, and thanks for the additional info on the brakes. Any chance of a wet dream coming true and ever adapting 3.0 heads into a bored out 2.8?
So I guess my Avant is rare? It came with all the extras fully loaded, Audi concert w/ changer, dual power front seats, sport shocks, 7 spoke 16" wheels, full size spare, etc. In a 5 Speed? I'm happy with it.
