I have a 98 a4 quattro non turbo. Abs light came on and brake lighht flashing. We are here just till today and don't wanna risk driving back to California with it on.... Anyone in the area that wants to help so we can take off??!! We are on our last dollars and can't afford to take it to a shop. Someone please help. Btw the light cane in as Soon as we got into Vegas. Prior to that I had a flat repaired while still in ca.

all it means is you're anti lock brakes don't work

I've driven without them for a year and it is a common problem for the abs module to stop working, can be verified when trying to use a vagcom and it will say something along the lines of "cannot communicate"

I really don't think you would need abs to drive from nevada to cali, pretty dry roads i'd imagine.

I've driven with it for a year and have never had one incidence where i even needed abs.
