Just a quick one,
Where is the drivers side-side airbag ingniter located? Any one have a diagram or picture?
Is it connected inside the bag itself or where is it ?
I have to get this replaced and would like an idea of what needs to be done before it happens.

It is on the back side of the airbag its self. It it the whole piece in the center of the steering wheel and its what you might think was the horn. There are 2 holes on the back side of the steering wheel with pins inside of them that you move to remove the assembly. If you dont know what your doing tho I recomend you take it to some one who does because you could really get hurt.

 

So the side airbag ingnitor is located on the steering wheel? Just making sure because it doesn't make sense for it to be there and not in the seat.

 

o im sorry I didnt read that one right. Are you talking about the side impact or the side curtin. Side impact is in the seat and the curtin igniter is in the A pillar and then the airbag part of it is runs along the top of the doors. all of the igniters are attached to that corrisponding airbag. sorry about the confusion

 

that's alright ... so it'a attached to the air bag ... so this ebay airbag will have the igniter on it ?

sure will. the wire in the picture is what is attached to the igniter. Just make sure that the batt. is disconnected if you do it yourself. Also when you put it in Audi/VW states that when you connect the batt. make sure that the key is on so that if the airbag goes off your not in the car
