Default Anyone else have this issue? (Exhaust)

Hey lads/ladies,
Had to take the ol beast into the shop when I pulled outta Panera and my exhaust sounded like I'd blown a hole right through it. Come to find out..I sorta did. The "flex joint" on my exhaust is busted. Indy shop wants to charge me ~425 for the fix. This sound about right? Anyone else had this issue?

is your exhaust stock? I would go to a muffler shop and put together a custom 2.5in w/ "insert name here" mufflers shouldn't be much more than $350

Well I do find it to be pretty expensive but unfortunetly I already told the guy to go ahead...I can't sit around with a broken car for long.

Maybe someone can shed a little more light on what this piece actually is. I've tried to find it on numerous audi parts websites. According to the shop I took it to he couldn't find the piece I needed anywhere and had to order it from the audi dealer who also didn't have it in stock.

To me it sounds like the flex joint is the piece that connects your exhaust system to your engine...either after or before the catalytic converter.

Anyone know more about it?

thats nthe mesh woven fitting on the bottom of the downpipe to allow for flex due to body movement and heat expansion.

Dude that is way to mush! I'd get a full exhaust for that much......BTW just for laughs how much do they want for a full exhaust???
