Default Anyone here have a problem with their heated seat?

I was told that VW has a recall on all their heated seats installed in all Jettas and Passat. I am having some issues with mine last winter. I called Audi and they told me that there are no recalls for my car and that the Passat/Jettas are not using the same heating unit as the A4. I don't buy it at all. What your thought?

Overheating to a point that it will eventually burnt right through the seat.

Yep -common problem (well not too common) but its the main problem when you see one with our seats.
I believe its a result of some of the wires cracking in the heating pad and shorting out. The cracks are caused by kneeling heavily on the seat, etc...

My girl has a 01 Jetta that she took in a few weeks ago and they did the seat heater recall for her. It was some part of the switch / wiring harness that was replaced iirc not any part of the heating element itself.

My buddy has a 96 2.8. Neither of his seats work.
At one point the passenger seat would shock your butt . haha

Does anyone actually getting the heater to turn on even if the switch is at zero?
