ok my car is running the right PSI about 18 peak but if i gas it hard there is a loud wooshing sound (rushing air) not sure if there's an airleak or what but i'm sure someone might know where i can check to fix this. Thanks.

 

is this a recent occurance or has it been doing this

 

Does the boost stay constant?

 

i have an 01 1.8t that makes the same noise and mine is stock (it kinda sounds like its blowing air throught the dash

 

it could always just be your turbo pushing the air... it sounds like that, especially with the windows down it sounds just like air blowing but its the air just being sucked and compressed by the turbo

 

smokeU- Is the sound constant or is it a burst?

blkapra4- Your diverter valve is probably toast. Get a 710N valve from ECS tuning or from a dealership.

 

yeah i guess thats it. cause it doesnt do it in first gear but around 3k in 2nd and on a wooshing noise from the engine bay not really from the dash. but it wasnt doing it before and now it does after i got chipped. its loud too. but no noticeable disconnected hoses. i'll have to find the exact location and let you all know. and boost is good still. runnning 18-19 psi at the peak.

Aha. It's because you just got chipped. It makes a sucking sound right? Souns like sucking in while whistling?
