Anyone ran away from a COP?
I was going about 75 in a 40 on a heavily patrolled road a couple months ago and my radar detector blew up... I looked in my rearview mirror and the Birmingham PD was pulling out and hit his lights, I put the damn thing to the floor and hit about 120 on this road and dipped into the college campus, running past the gaurds and everything.. got away, but not my smartest moment.

And it's a Class E felony, which means you probably won't get convicted for a felony, unless you have a shitty lawyer. You will get a Class A misdemeanor charge. It's covered under individual sovreignty laws, it's the idea that the ability of the individual to determine his/her own fate subordinates the state -- "he was convicted of misdemeanor evading arrest and is organizing a civil suit". That quote is from a civil defense suit being organized by Jim Davidson, someone who ran from the cops and did not get away -- in fact, he became a victim of police brutality.
Suprisingly, the case isn't even as much about his brutalization, but more about the ability of the police to charge him with evading arrest. I'll send you the link if you want to freshen up on your laws.

U said it ur self it still is a felony. I didnt say u were an idiot for doing it and i saw that u said not the smartest moment but it was still very wreckless. I bet u could even plead guilt and only get probation and fines but still a felony non the less.
I have run from the cops , a few times - once in a 1990 Acura Integra GS about 10 years ago when I was 17 - he was in hot persuit on a stop DWI night in our county but I ran down back dirt roads and hid behind a barn - that was close. The I ran the US/Canada border with a few friends , once in my buddies 89' Ford Probe and then in my 96' A4q . They wanted to search the car both times when they asked us what we had to declare and we just hammered down onto the interstate instead of pulling over to the customs building. I never looked back either time and still am a bit nervous crossing the border and that was years ago. Hopefully thats the end of these stories for me but a few of you know, like me, that if need be, we will push it until we are gone.

haha^^^^ I've def outran my share of cops, obviously not with their lights on behind me though that'd be crazyness.....
i just payed my ticket for being pulled over TWICE in 3 days for the SAME THING.... not having a front plate. I think cops jsut have sticks up their a$$'s here in Bham cause i have a better car than they do
