Anything to watch for on 05' A4?
uh - you are comparing a 1.8t to the 3.2L 270hp TL? c'mon. Out of the box they are not comparable. You are making it easy to flame you.
The TL is a nice car, I even like its interior, but I don't like how it drives at all. I like to drive, not play with gadgets. Europeans don't make cars for girls to play with the gadgets. Europeans are all about the driving experience.
Out of the box, the 3.2 255hp A4 is a much better performing car than the 3.2L 270hp TL. Throw in quattro and the TL just can't keep up. A quarter mile time means nothing to the majority of people. Take your car on some twisties and see how much more you enjoy your drive.

I only speak of gadgets for the total picture, cost factor. The TL handles nice, very nice, no not on par of an A4 quattro but it can handle it's own. The interior layout and design is the best I've seen after searching at the time and driving different models, a comparable BMW 330 at the time was 40K, what a joke and it still didn't come with as much, the driving experience wasn't enough to make for the +$6-7000 difference.
Pure driving yes I would probably agree the v6 A4 would be better than the TL, if she is buying the car on pure driving I'd say go for the V6 A4. If she is buying the car as a "total" package not just driving experience TL all the way.
Also, I know she is getting the automatic for which ever car, but unless Audi changed it's shifter in the A4 with the V6 there is no way it competes (manual to manual) with the TLs.
What are the numbers for the A4 V6, just curious.

I'm not trying to start a flame war between a TL and A4, they are both great cars. Currently, I'm just looking for "inside" information on the A4. Any bugs, anything to stay away from?
She is actually leaning towards the Audi because the TL doesn't have a fold down rear seat and since it's her only car, she REALLY wants to have that feature.

no no - no flame war. we are having a discussion. lol. Anyway - I don't have anything against the TL - I like the car in general. Looks good, asnd the best interior of any japanese car by far.
The TL doesnt have a fold down seat? Thats an odd one for a sedan.
The early CVT tranny on the 2003-4 audi's tended to have a sporadic problems with reverse. I have never encountered it (I dont have a cvt) but I have read a few posts on the subject.

Well, if you look on the Acura website for the specs for the TL, it says that it DOES come with those rear folding seats.
http://www.acura.com/models/model_sp....asp?module=tl
Look for: Rear-seat center locking trunk pass-through
Maybe this isnt the car your looking at tho...

Maybe it's changed OR maybe it's just a pass through the rear arm rest for things such as ski's. Get to the bottom of the rear seat mystery we must!
2004 TL = rear seats do not fold
2005 TL = rears seats fold
I also considered a G35 and was shockingly suprised at how crappy the workmanship and overall quality was on their interiors, man Infinity needs to keep Nissan far far away from their interiors.
