Default APR?

Ok, before you flame me for asking a question thats been asked many times. I did search the threads and still had a few questions. I am considering an APR chip (mostly because theres a shop close to me) I've heard that they are "drawn out" compared to GIAC? I understand that the GIAC has a strong torque sensation really low. But what about the APR,I mean is it non-existant below like 5000 rpm? Also I heard that the APR wasn't good for FWD because there were traction issues. I drive a Quattro, so this shouldn't be a factor right? Also like I said I can get APR from a local shop, GIAC through the mail, is GIAC that much better that it would remove any benefits of working through a local shop? Thanks alot for you time.

thats apretty confusing paragraph but, any FWD car will have traction issues above 200hp...

Just because APR isnt quite as vicious as GIAC doesnt mean it isnt strong! i drove a revo, giac and apr car before getting apr, it was the smoothest and seemed to pull the hardest to me...

all their power #s are very similar, i would go with the dealer closest to you and the one you feel the most comfortable with

ya i have APR and i always wondered what GIAC would be like, i have heard that GIAC has lower TQ, but dies out pretty fast. APR has higher TQ and not so much in the lower end, i feel it when the turbo kicks in, (or have i forgotten what a stock audi feels like) but is smooth. my car feels the exact same (smooth wise) but faster, just like if it came that way from the dealer. Overall i am glad i got APR. sorry if this doesnt make sence

but i do want giac tip chip, hmm...

no dont waste the $$$ for the switcher, would you really want to drive around with 65 less hp after you've had a taste of it??? want to be stuck trying to switch programs so you dont lose to a minivan??? haha you will NEVER use the switcher unless you wanted to prank someone maybe
