Im posting this here so it will get more attention.

I am going to be sellin my apr software and ecu for a 99 a4 1.8t. It was used for 5months only and has the flip switch that comes with it. ( enables chip to be turned of from inside the car? Pm me if interested.

 

Will that chip work with any other year besides a '99?

I have a '97 A4 1.8t and have been lookin into the ecu chips. If yours is compatible with other years, I might be interested.

Guys help me out here, Where letters have to be compatible? I forget, is it the last three numbers and the last letter?

why are you selling the chip?

 

Im just upgrading the software for a bigger turbo.I only had it 5mth, its the latest sofware


morrison- check your ecu number in you ecu box(driver side up near the windsheild there will be a long plastic cover, take that off and there will be a black box,There are 5 screws, you only have to take out 4 to lift it up and get your num, the 5th can be really hard to get.

 

they are 5/16 inched hex heads. get a bit driver and use this to get the first four. get a magnetic rod and a rachet to get the 5th one. you dont want to lose that 5th one and it is a common problem.

identical to yours except the last letter - i dont know what that means but there ya go.

 

Well since im selling the whole new ecu with the chip, I " think" it will work. Can someone else remember how that works.

 

Call a APR distributer. If its N-DBW than yes it will work it just has to be reflashed to work properly. You can't take a chip made for N-DBW and put it in a DBW car. When i got mine it didn't matter at all, i had a manual fwd, and i bought a chip from this guy that has a quattro tip. Just call and make sure b/c i have giac and apr might be different.
