Default APR ECU Upgrade. My input! (UPDATE PAGE 2) GO GO GO!

2001 A4 1.8T Tip

As I said earlier, I was going to get some stuff done to my car.. Well heres my input!

The APR ECU Flash Upgrade is the best bang for your buck! My car is so much more responsive, and responds a lotfaster at that! I feel the gains in horsepower indefinately. I'm pushing at least 200 now.

With the chip, I upgraded my DV of course to Forge 007Ps.. Lifetime warranty on those of course, and everything is good with it.

Unfortunately, they were out of stock on K&N Air Filters - Will pick one up in 2 weeks along with...

They said whenever I wanted a Test Pipe(A solid 15HP gain)for my car, they'll upgrade my software so that the "Check Engine Light" will not come on after installation the pipe, for free!

Test Pipe will be $155 + $80 Labor for installation.

I get it done in 2 weeks!

Congrats!

You might want to change your signature. It says, "ALL STOCK; For now... "

Cheers!

congrats... consider getting a tip chip before the test pipe though... wont give you more hp, but will change the way the car behaves and youll be able to take more advantage of your new found power. Technicaly it will make you faster cuz it cuts more than a 1/2 sec. off each gear shift. Its my next mod, so im just excited.. We need more pepeswith tip chips round here. Guinea pigs, that is.

I think I read somewhere on the forums that the tip chip is bad for the car? I'm not too sure though, please be kind enough to give me some more info on that. Thanks!

And thanks to everyone else!

Ive never read that... The tip chip reduces the lag between shifts that the tip tranny is so known for. AWE tuning compares it to "superbike" shifting. It reduces the time between shifts from something like 1 second to .2 seconds. Its very recomended even with stock tuning, more so with a chip or k04. If you read something bad about it show me a link id be interested in hearing a negative review since all ive ever read is good things.

I dont think GIAC offers it, Ive only heard of APR and REVO doing such things.
