Default APR options

quick question... About to get the APR stage 1+ program and wanted some advice on whether the "Fault Code Erase/Throttle Body Alignment" add-on option was necessary or suggested. I'd rather save the money but if it's important i wont skimp on 60 bucks. Thanks for any help.

If you have a VAG-COM you won't need that option at all.

i don't have a vag-com... would i be better off investing in a vag-com or is neither really necessary... if all i would be using the vag-com for is those two functions i can't imagine a vag-com comparing in price to the added feature for 60 dollars.

If you have a laptop, you could spend $70 for the cable and software for vag com. id hold off on that apr option and get vag com, you can do so many more things with vag than just reading/clearing codes and a tba.

thanks for the advice... is there any way you could point me in the right direction for that cable?? I have a laptop so that seems to be the most reasonable thing to do. Is any liscense required for the software or would i just need the $70 cable?

You can get the cable off ebay or Ross-Tech's website. There is a free download for basic software or you can pay for upgraded.

forget the eBay and go to Ross tech the cables 90% don't work and the software still needs a license so it wont work on most things unless your a hacker
