I installed the APR snub mount and DV this afternoon, and as I was doing a final check to make sure everything was good, I looked up to see that the snub mount had split. Given this, and what I've been reading about the R1 DV lately, I'm regretting going with APR (good thing I decided to hold off on the chip). Has anyone else had their mount split like this? I'll be calling APR customer service on Monday, is this going to be a painful process, or are they pretty decent are far as CS goes?

Currently the mount is zip-tied around the circumference, but I don't expect that to last long.

Wow. That's the first time I've ever heard of the snub splitting. APR usually has pretty good customer service. They may ask for it back before they send you another though.

 

That will be nice and inconvenient... I would have to get another to replace it before removing it from the car, as the original mount crumbled when I took it off. I just pulled the axles off the Jeep, the BMW is in storage(and for sale), and the Beast is on it's way to the body shop, leaving me with one drivable vehicle, the Audi. Which makes sense really, I bought it to be my daily driver while the others were in various stages of repair/modification. Neither of the motorcycles has moved in years, so that's not an option. I do hope they will be satisfied with pictures.

 

Get the greedspeed snub. Its onlt like $15 and get your money back

 

I wouldn't think they would ask for it back --they can clearly see that it's split. Only thing i can think as to why they would want it back would be to perform some tests on it; maybe they have a bad batch floating about out there? And i'm sure they would want it back only after they send you, and you install, the new one.

 

I think there are two snub mounts from them, blue and red. Not sure what the difference between the two APR snub mounts.

 

Has anyone tried the Greedspeed. Is it as reliable as the APR. For $13 it seems like a good deal.

 

i am soo going to order than when i repaint my bumper this winter, if it works i will forever be in your debt, i cant believe that i didnt think to look for parts from them when i heard about them when i first got into VAG cars.

 

Blue is for b5's red is for b6's.

 

I had the GS snub on my A4 - for $15 I couldn't complain
