APR snub mount = $60 piece of crap
Did you like hammer it into place or something? I don't see how it could split, especially on the side like that.
Oh well, I'm no expert. I have a PureMS snub and love it.

With this, and what I've been reading about the R1 DV failures, I feel like I wasted $200 that could have gone toward a chip, or some new rotors and pads, or something useful.

I think there are two snub mounts from them, blue and red. Not sure what the difference between the two APR snub mounts.

My APR experience was quite pleasant. I'd be surprised if they don't do an advance exchange for you, maybe securing a credit card number first or something. Good luck! The snub in my car made a noticable improvement.

What 's wrong with the APR R1 DV? I'm going to order one of those; favored that as opposed to the Forge 007. That was a hard choice, though, considering Forge has... forged... their name in concrete with reliability and performance.

That will be nice and inconvenient... I would have to get another to replace it before removing it from the car, as the original mount crumbled when I took it off. I just pulled the axles off the Jeep, the BMW is in storage(and for sale), and the Beast is on it's way to the body shop, leaving me with one drivable vehicle, the Audi. Which makes sense really, I bought it to be my daily driver while the others were in various stages of repair/modification. Neither of the motorcycles has moved in years, so that's not an option. I do hope they will be satisfied with pictures.

Well, I just got off the phone with APR. They're sending out a new mount, and gave me an RMA number for the faulty mount. This part was fine and dandy, but when he mentioned that "if we don't get the old one back in a couple weeks we're going to charge you for the new one", it rubbed me the wrong way. Not that I have a problem sending the old one back, it's worthless. But threatening to charge me twice for something that was not only faulty, but already overpriced by a *huge* margin is not how one wins customer loyalty. I then asked for a refund instead of a replacement, and was told that they don't give refunds for faulty products.
Now, before anyone chimes in with "that's how it works, get used to it, etc...". I know good and well that its a policy you find everywhere, but from a customer standpoint, even the potential for being charged twice for something you only get one of (in a usable state) is poor taste. What happens if it gets lost in transit? I get charged $120 for $20 worth of mount. So now I have to pay extra for tracking/insurance/whatever to ensure I have a paper trail showing I sent it back. And no refund for faulty products? That's bullshit.
And that's all assuming the replacement mount is not faulty. Realistically, if the replacement part came from the same mold, poured from the same batch of poly, it's equally likely to be as faulty as the first. As it stands, I'm done with APR (at least until the R1 fails...). I'm half tempted to yank both the DV and the mount, and ship them back to APR with an invoice for $208 (or whatever it came to), accompanied a nice note from my lawyer explaining that a refund and the severing of all ties is in everyones best interest. It's not about the money, it's the hassle. Unfortunately, it's the end user/consumer that routinely bears the majority share of that hassle.

I've read on other forums that they are having issues with the springs, and at least one guy has posted pictures of a torn diaphragm. I'll see if I can find the threads.

that was me... they had a bad batch go out... mine tore instantly on the test drive... but they had great customer service in taking care of me.. so far........
i have seen several other posts where they have cracked snubs as well although some were the fault of the user... by poor install, no lube, backwards etc... give em a call! ask for keith, he is the manager
i would stand behind their software 100% they do a ton of R&D as do all the companies... but think too im sure the snub is subcontracted out to some company so its nothing to do with the software however they are putting their name on it and should stand behind it 100% as im sure they will if u call up and explain the situation calmly
im sure that one company makes all the snub mount and just puts apr's logo on themand the same for other companies you never know what your really buying anymore nor who really makes it
